This is volume one of the five volume set and is about an hour long. This is a free download courtesy of NCN.
This is mostly material from the early 80's featuring incredible collages mixed with extemporaneous trance-spout riffing, psychedelic bulldada and, sprinkled throughout, an interview with the principle 'Doktors of the Air' at the time, (Moebius Rex, Puzzling Evidence, and Gary G'Broagfran) who (try to) explain X-Day, "Bob", slack(tm), the Subgenius Church, and their very strange radio show, which eventually became (some 25 years later) 'The Puzzling Evidence Show' (which is still on KPFA).
Also sprinkled throughout, are some musical pieces by 'The Band That Dare Not Speak Its Name' which ncluded Gary and Puzzling, amongst others, Eraserhead references, and appearances by Dr. Hal (Hal Robins), giant spiders and dinosaurs, and 'the sludge girls' talking a lot about 'nameless sludge'.
This first of 5 hour-long volumes of the "80's" series is free to download and enjoy.
Most of these mixes are edited clips from 'The Show' which was broadcast live at 4:30 on Saturday Mornings for the longest time, and offered some of the most frenetic, breakneck, and weeeeird live mix radio before, then, or since in the same vein as Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, Firesign Theater, but with certainly it's own realm, sound and absurdist sensibility.

These 'Best of' programs were post-mixed and edited together by Phineas Narco of the National Cynical Network. See the attendant credits for the original members and performers for 'The Show' which had a tremendous influence on NCN much later on.
Don't worry, it's just a show.
