about

This 'Best of' collection is about politics and is not to be confused with Episode 19 of the Midnight Voicejail original series titled 'Left & Right'. That program is much shorter (both in content and title length) than this 'Best of' Edition.

Sometimes 'Best of' excerpts for this series are modified a bit from their original form.

'Midnight Voicejal psychedelically follows the real-life exploits of The Voicejailers as they communicate on, and take over, voice mailbox systems in the 1980's and 1990's through recordings of real voice mail message, outgoings, and field recordings.

This program is meant to be listened to, and taken, as a whole work, artistic in nature. Subsequently, more derivative tracks are not available separately.

All derived and referenced material used herein is meticulously accredited and/or fragmented / transformed / re-contextualized, and/or remixed from its original form, and is used fairly as a cultural reference in the subtext, and artistic narrative, of this unique 'syntopical' arrangement.

Track Name: BAR's 'Be Conservative' Song
Proposition 102
What do you think about that?
Those junkies and those homos
it really knocks them flat

Take those who test positive
and drag them through the mud
if you do drugs or homo-sex
it shows up in your blood

And some day
if we can
let's take the ones with HIV
and send them to Iran

Proposition 95
What do you think about this?
The hungry and the homeless
They really don't exist

Voting no on 95
will not make you a slob
if they're so goddamn hungry
why don't they get a job?

And if you do drugs and alcohol
Then you may end up homeless
it'll be your own damn fault

Don't vote for Dukakis
He'll send us straight to hell
Bush can run the country
and he'll really run it well

Those empty headed liberals
must come to an end
don't want no more inflation
don't want no tax and spend

I'm always right
and I know how to live
vote like I vote
think like I think
Be Conservative

I hope you laughed at this song
that I wrote

Do as your heart tells you
But just make sure and vote!
