about

A clip from Negativland's radio show Over the Edge episode called 'The Experience Remix' from October, 1994.

A montage mix of different treatments of The Star Spangled Banner (coverd by Jimi Hendrix and others) initially run together. We hear a repeated sample about 'death by absorption'. Part of Negativland's piece 'Our National Anthem' is heard from their album 'Free'. This segues into Mark Hosler(?) of Negativland singing The Star Spangled Banner over Hendrix's version (post-mixed) on their show 'Over the Edge' during a sequence from early on in the show's run. A clip from Dick Cavett's television interview with Hendrix talking about his 'unorthodox' version of The Star Spangled Banner. Samples of Hendrix's widow at the end of the track.
