Double Bind

from Schizophrenia by NCN

/

about

For best effect, for this track, use headphones.

A vamped weave of sample of Jimi Hendrix (from the song Manic-Depression), and a sample of Roger Waters (from the Pink Floyd song 'Dogs') are played in the background.

In the foreground is a looped sample from the film 'The Thing' (1982) by John Carpenter. "...Get me out of here..." etc. This is the double bind.

This mix begins to echo and ripple more, mixed with various percussive and music loops. Ultimately, a lazy, languid mood develops with the 'double bind' mix eventually being heard, itself in the background.

We hear various sound effects which build, with various effects and loops, and segue into a psychedelicized remix of Kenny Loggin's 'I'm Alright'. This builds in intensity and culminates into a loop of 'Too Much Paranoias' by Devo, abruptly ending on an echo.
