about

Part 3 of 5 - A piece of music is played over a monologue possibly by Arthur C. Clarke. Calls are taken over dramatic music. A caller gives a rambling improvised monologue. A caller is heard softly in the background. Don (Joyce) interacts with a UMN Station I.D. and a caller. Much feedback is heard amidst music. More callers, which The Weatherman (David Wills) talks to. The Weatherman gets the booper working again. More calls are heard amist live music and various effects and sound effects. The booper is played over a caller along with organ music. The booper continues amidst other samples and music. The song, 'Questions' by Manfred Mann is heard amidst various samples and effects. Mark Hosler and David talk amidst samples and music. More mix and then another UMN and KPFA Station I.D.'s. A recording of a man with an accent reads a monologue about spaceflight is played (yielding the sample 'Over the Edge') over live music. We hear parts of Albedo 0.39 by Vangelis in the background being made to stutter with a cd scanner. This mix reaches a climax.
