DETAILS ABOUT THIS TRACK:

The title of this track is lyric by Bob Dylan from a song called 'All Along the Watchtower' and is partly about that song. The song (lossless source) is played in its entirety at the beginning and then we hear the audio of a video essay analyzing the song called 'Why Bob Dylan Won The Nobel Prize' by Nerdwriter1 which can be found here:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=In6gCrGeZfA

This Dylan song acts as an overall leitmotif throughout the larger work that this track is a part of as we will later hear dropped-in versions of the work at key moments. In a way, Trump is at least in part cast as 'The Joker' in the song coming from a similar place of trapped, cornered desperation: 'There has got to be some kind of way out of here.'

Furthermore, Nerdwriter's interpretation of the song's subtext as a prognostication of 'recurring doom' also speaks to the historical recurrance of demagoguery, scape-goating, Fascism, totalitarian and ultimately self-destruction that the Trump story is a part of.

This segues into a clip from The Daily Show by Jordan Klepper called 'Jordan Klepper Sees It All at The Capitol Insurrection | The Daily Social Distancing Show' which can be seen here:

This segment has been augmented by NCN by with music by Hans Zimmer from the Oiginal Soundtrack for the 2008 Christopher Nolan film, 'The Dark Knight'.

Further developing this subtle 'Dark Knight' reference, as well as the idea of 'The Joker' (meaning 'Trump as') we full-on cast Trump as the 'agent of chaos' as portrayed in The Dark Knight by the late actor Heath Ledger. This treatment includes some news clips of Trump utilizing the word 'pathetic' as well as a clip of Joe Biden from one of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Debates, a brief clip of a conversation with Dana Gould and John Hodgman from Gould's podcast, episode titled, 'Hail the Non-Monsters', and the dubstep piece 'Agent of Chaos' which was done by artist DJ Twobeans.

More modified samples from the movie, 'The Dark Knight' are also heard including the actors Christian Bale and Michael Caine near the end of the track.

It is an 'easter egg' in this mix that we hear a motorcycle crash during the DK sequence, and this retro-references the Dyland motorcycle crash mentioned earlier in the mix.

This track is part of a playlist representing our (The National Cynical Network's) album, THE APOCALYPSE OF DONALD J. TRUMP (Vol. 8)- 'The Insurrection (January 6th, 2021)'.

It is the followup to Vol. 7 in our series which can be found on Bandcamp here:
