about

'Serious Music' tracks are a collage about Frank's attitudes toward, and the part of his career devoted to, classical music.

Zappa gives his personal definition of musical success. 'Louie, Louie' is mixed with interview clips and a version of 'Call Any Vegetable'

Frank 'explains about serious music' amidst other samples, mostly from various interviews of Frank talking about music. Some of Frank's orchestral music from 'Yellow Shark' is heard mixed with earlier work with The Mothers yakking on the bus. Frank's London Symphony Orchestra recording is mixed in with this. Frank talks about who and how music was paid for music in the days of 'classical' music. He compares this to his approach. Don plays the booper with a live version of 'Trouble Every Day'.
