about

This track is a continuation of track 5 '(The Real Story of) Donald Trump's Father' and delves more into the personality, history and personal impact of Fred Trump, Donald J. Trump's father, both on Donald and on his brother Fred (a subject which is more thoroughly explored in the track after this one).

This starts off with some representation of the media fallout of the discovery of a 1927 newspaper article which documented Fred Trump getting into trouble with the law in relation with an event hosted by the racist organization of the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). This is discussed here, in two interviews, by Trump's niece, Mary Trump and by the Progressive Internet news/talk show host, David Pakman.

The David Pakman Show is on Youtube and you can subscribe to its channel here:

In the backdrop of this sequence, we hear renditions of the song 'Sins of the Father' from the video game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. For more information on this song go here:

We hear the song 'Some Humans Ain't Human' by the country singer/song-writer John Prine, who was one of the first 'celebrities' to die in the covid crisis of 2020. This is a 2005 anti-war song written about U.S. President George W. Bush and his supporters during his administration after his declaration of the Persian Gulf War of his era.

After we hear more of the main interview with Mary Trump, we hear a brief illustrative audio sample from Trump, a commentary sample from comedian George Carlin, and this segues into the 2004 song 'Sins of My Father' by Tom Waits.

After this, we hear a well-known and much-loved song by the band UB40 called 'Sins of the Father'. For the lyrics to this song go here:

After a brief sequence featuring an electronic voice recounting the crimes of Fred Trump we then get into the 'Woody Guthrie' portion of this track. This sequence commences at timestamp 40:46 and gives a 'version medley' (excerpts of many covers done by many different artists and bands) of the song 'Ain't Got No Home' which was written and sung and released by Guthrie in the year 1940. For more information on this song you can go here:

The original version of the song contains a direct reference to Fred Trump ('old man Trump') who was Guthrie's landlord at a low income apartment complex called Beach Haven at the time.

This version medley showcases a live rendition by Lucinda Williams as well as versions by 101, The Missin' Cousins, Vinegar Flies and an updated version by Middle Class Joe.

Guthrie was the ORIGINAL 'Anti-Fa' and sang OUT against Fascists and Fascism and this is illustrated here in his songs 'Tear the Fascists Down' and 'All You Fascists Bound to Lose' and finally his song 'Mean Talking Blues' which may have been, at least in part, been inspired by his landlord, Fred Trump.

NCN plans to create an expanded v2.0 Expanded standalone version of this Woody Guthrie set which will be made available on our SoundCloud page at:

...as well as added to THIS program as a hidden bonus track when you get it as a download. Feel free to follow us here on Bandcamp for current info.

The program that this track is a part of, 'THE APOCALYPSE OF DONALD J. TRUMP (Vol. 1): The Origin Story', was made in the early part of the summer of 2021 and was worked on over a number of months and streamed in developing form over NCN's live bi-weekly webcast.

The title's use of 'Origin Story' is a riff on a term given to film vehicles which are essentially prequels, often applied to cinematic villains (such as Darth Vader or The Joker) showing the audience 'how they got that way'. Since Donald J. Trump is literally almost a larger-than-life cinematic 'villain' (almost an amalgam of 'the main bad guy' in every Steven Segal movie ever made) we thought we would give him his own real-life 'origin story' told in our own psychedelic and artistic sound collage media mix form.

This mix might very well be eye-opening to those of you who think you 'know Trump' and most listeners are bound to learn most likely more than a little more about the 'making of this monster' by listening to this program.
