about

The Hymn 'All Hail Oceania' from the 1984 film '1984' is heard at the beginning, this segues into the fanfare of '1984' the 1949 NBC University Theater's Radio play with David Niven (Opening excerpt) and the opening minutes of that program. The character of Winston Smith is introduced who starts his 'journal' outside the sight of the telescreen in his apartment.
