about

This is a telescoped digest of this set as it appeared originally in our program: The mastermind behind the Tate-LaBianca murders (which some say heralded the end of the 1960's) Charles Manson died in 2017 but this was made before that happened. This is from our program 'Hunting and Gathering 2' and includes a mashup by DJ Soundhog called Whole Lotta Helter Skelter which mashes up Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love' and The Beatles' 'Helter Skelter'. Manson reportedly drew inspiration from The Beatles' 'White Album' and in particular the song 'Helter Skelter'. This mashup is mixed with samples of Charles Manson talking as well as clips of Vincent Bugliosi who prosecuted him. We next hear the theme song from The Monkees TV show in the background and clips from comedian Sam Kinison talking about Charles Manson. An excerpt from The Ben Stiller Show ("Ask Charles Manson") with Ben Stiller leads into a 1970s era perfume commercial for a fragrance named Charli. A piece by Solcofn 'There's No Need to Fear' is next. A clip from the trailer for 'Manson' intercut with more Ben Stiller Manson comedy. The set ends with a mashup of The Beatles' 'Helter Skelter' a song by Lenny Kravitz done by DRA'man mixed with more clips from Charles Manson interviews.

From our program 'Hunting and Gathering 2' which was broadcast on January 8th, 2017 and is available in its entirety here:
