You do not need to pay anything to stream or download any of these programs or pieces which is the case for all audio work by NCN.

This MetaMix (literally, a 'mix of mixes') combines many different collected treatments of the song 'Sheep' originally done by the progressive psychedelic 70's rock band Pink Floyd for their 1977 album, 'Animals'. This particular piece, as well as the larger work it is a part of ('The Psychedelic SHEEP MetaMix') arose out of a webcast show marathon that The National Cynical Network (NCN) did on January 21st, 2024 which was the 47th anniversary of the release of the original Pink Floyd 'Animals' album. The webcast show (still under production in its entirety at the date of THIS piece and album's publishing) was called 'The Pink Floyd 'Animals' 47th Anniversary Remix Marathon' and was streamed for 12 hours.

This Pink Floyd Self-Aware Sheep MetaMix is split between Parts A and B of the album, the first half appearing at the beginning of Part A and the conclusion bookending the overall mix by appearing at the end of Part B. The mix combines many different collected treatments of the song 'Sheep' originally done by the progressive psychedelic 70's rock band Pink Floyd for their 1977 album, 'Animals'.

For more information on the original song 'Sheep' by Pink Floyd upon which this MetaMix is based please see:

'The Psychedelic SHEEP MetaMix' of which this track/mix is a part was adapted from an earlier NCN show called 'Counting Sheep (and Pigs)' which was created 9 years prior to the program that this track/mix is a part of, 'The Psychedelic SHEEP MetaMix' and contains portions of that show. Some of these portions have been remastered with higher quality source files than 'Counting Sheep (and Pigs) including remastered and/or lossless versions of the source files.

NCN's program 'Counting Sheep (and Pigs)' can be found at Mixcloud here:

For more information on NCN's bi-weekly live webcast (currently on SLACK RADIO at slackradio.org and Plundercast at plundercast.net) see the details for the album that this track/mix is a part of 'The Psychedelic SHEEP MetaMix'.

Sources and Credits (SPOILERS) for this Track:

'The Ultimate Self-Aware Pink Floyd 'Sheep' MetaMix' utilizes many different versions of the song including the long-awaited remastered '2018 Remix' version of the original song, put out officially by Pink Floyd (from lossless source), isolated sound effect tracks from the 2017 High-Resolution Remasters of the original song, released by Pink Floyd (from lossless source).

Other used sources include work by The Buddah Lounge Players, The Orb, The portions of the mix that mash up the dramatization of George Orwell's book 'Animal Farm' (which in part inspired Pink Floyd's 'Animals') I think was by a DJ/Artist by the name of 'Scooter', also Pink Floyd Floydhead (who utilizes samples also from the Pink Floyd works 'Atom Heart Mother' and 'Careful with that Axe, Eugene' in his mix) is in here as well as Roger Waters live in concert in Santiago, Chile on March 14, 2007 from the bootleg album '50,000 Lunatics on the Grass' (lossless source), an early version of the song 'Sheep', when it was known as 'Raving and Drooling' (lossless source) is also included in this MetaMix. It was recorded in 1974 when it was performed live by Pink Floyd at Wembley stadium and it was released in November, 2011 as part of the 'Wish You Were Here' Immersion Box Set. The spoken commentary which is heard within this MetaMix and is commenting on the song itself is from 'Vinyl Rewind' and you can find them on Youtube at:

www.youtube.com/@VinylRewind

Note: Hardcore Pink Floyd fans might want to keep an ear out during the fadeout very end of this mix (before the NCN logo) because there is a special audio 'Easter Egg' in there that I think they will recognize and get a big kick out of but I truly do not want to spoil this special little chestnut in advance and tell you what it is (no fair skipping ahead and 'peeking'! Srsly tho do it THAT way for BEST effect, you'll hear what I mean). :-)
