about

This mix was created by painstakingly splicing together different parts of different versions and remixes of this song (which is not heard in its complete original form in this track) into one continuous mix or 'MetaMix' (literally a 'mix of mixes'): "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen and performed and written by Freddie Mercury.

The mix starts with the remix of the song done by 'Global Deejays' and gradually builds up in intensity through more and more rocketing and super-charged versions of the song, finally culminating with a METAL remix of the song marking the climax of the entire album that this track is a part of. For more info on the album use the BUY link (you do not have to pay anything for it).

Besides the Global Deejays and metal version, other versions of this song excerpted/used in this mix include the UltraTraxx 12" version, the 'EPIC' version, and The Intimate Rush Remix.

The album that this is from is called 'The Psychedelic PIGS Show' and it was put together by Phineas Narco for The National Cynical Network project and released on Nov. 8th, 2022.

The album is essentially a collage/media mix format psychedelic musical mix/journey into the world of pigs and songs and material all about pigs both as metaphor and actuality.

It is, in part, the distillation of many different shows that NCN has done in years past including 'The Coronavirus Show' (March 15, 2020), 'If Pigs Could Fly' (about swine flu/H1N1) and 'Counting Sheep (and Pigs) from August of 2014 plus a bunch of stuff created specifically for this program.

POSSIBLE MIX SPOILERS AHEAD:

The exploratory background triad backbone of the whole thing is essentially work by the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor (specifically the songs 'March of the Pigs' and 'Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now)', as well as the progressive/psychedelic 70s band Pink Floyd (specifically their songs, 'Pigs on the Wing' Parts 1 & 2 and of course, the classic and the iconic 'Pigs' from their 1977 album 'Animals', a song which is given a thorough 'self-aware' remixed exploration in Track 9 which is cued in the player and is probably the most complex, ambitious and work-consuming track of the project--for more details on this track see the page that it is on) and the rock/metal band Black Sabbath (specifically, their song 'War Pigs'). Many, many variants of all these songs (remixes, mashups, covers, parodies, live versions) run as intertwining leitmotifs all through this work along with other pig-oriented material.

This piece 'Momentum Mix 3' is 10 minutes and 30 seconds long. For comparison, the original song 'Don't Stop Me Now' by Queen, which this piece is about, is about 3 minutes and 30 seconds long.

The tracks for the companion pieces to this within the album are as follows:

Momentum Mix Part 1:

Momentum Mix Part 2:

It should be noted here that 'Momentum Mix Part 1', like Part 3, does reference the Queen song 'Don't Stop Me Now' though not as climactically as in Part 3. 'Momentum Mix Part 2' deals primarily with variations on the song 'Piggy (Nothing Can Stop Me Now) by Nine Inch Nails (Trent Reznor).
