As in 'Big Brother is...' a song by Sheldon Allman, is heard as a bit of comic relief from the intense sequence which precede it. We also hear part of the song 'Watching' by The Thompson Twins. Coming out of this song, we hear Winston Smith (David Niven in the 1949 NBC University Theater's Radio Play of 1984) is heard. The lovers talk.

This sequence's placement is actually a bit of a deconstruction as it takes place before their meeting in the rented room (What I've Brought).
