about

This is a piece that we were inspired to put together from a video posted on Youtube by 'Beau of the Fifth Column' on October 2nd, 2020, titled 'Let's talk about Trump going to the hospital....' about President Donald Trump coming down with covid-19, a virus pandemic which his administration had grossly mis-managed and inappropriately downplayed since it began in March of that year.

Many people at the time felt celebratory about Trump's infection and were openly hoping for, as Beau terms it, a 'negative outcome'. Beau argues, impeccably, why such an outcome, at the time, would be undesirable.

While listening to his words, we flashed mentally on a popular song at the time, sung by Billy Eilish called 'No Time To Die' and we decided to see if Beau's words would 'go' with the mudic of the song.

We feel the resultant mix very much draws out the emotion being felt culturally at this point in history as well as the weight of the issues that Beau is talking about. In particular, Eilish's lyric 'Fool me once, fool me twice...' seem almost referential to the decision which is at hand on Nov. 3rd.

What Beau is talking about is important. And his words remain important as of the time of this writing. 3 days before the 2020 Presidential election in The United States.

The piece ends with a montage of Trump statements mocking the practice of mask-wearing, long believed by the scientific community to be a prophylactic measure in slowing the spread of the virus.

The song No Time To Die by Billie Eilish is used here as an inspired and timely cultural reference in this work, and has been telescoped by NCN in such a way as to be imperceptible to the casual first-time listener and so that we do not intrude on the owner of this song's copyright of the original song. It is our hope that if you like this song, the listeners of our program purchase the original version of it from official sources and support Billie Eilish and her work.
