about

After hearing more of the clip of Trent Reznor being interviewed, we hear a bit of his song 'Hurt' which crossfades into the end of 'Is There Anybody Out There?' from Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' (film soundtrack). Another sample from an interview with Roger Waters and then we hear the opening of the song 'Nobody Home' from Pink Floyd's film soundtrack for 'The Wall'.

At a certain point in the song, the song itself crossfades into an instance of the song 'Nobody Home' being played over the phone on Negativland's radio show 'Over the Edge' on Ronald Redball's 'Phone Show'. Phineas is playing the song, over the phone, but at this point in time, doesn't personally know Ronald Redball. The recording of a man, giving various phone numbers, is an entirely unrelated sample being played IN THE STUDIO and amazingly, in the last few words of his monologue we hear him say '... nobody home' which is the name of the song being played over the phone.

Cosmic coincidence.
