about

This piece is symbolic of the conflict between the left and the right side of the political spectrum, in the extreme, in the United States, during the Trump era. It was inspired by and starts out with the Vic Berger piece 'I Started This Gang Called The Proud Boys' and segues into a song that the piece we were immediately reminded of when we heard it, Ministry's song 'Punch in the Face'. During the transition into this song, we hear US President Donald J Trump's flip/refusal to condemn The Proud Boys (and his chilling instruction to 'stand back and stand by') during his first televised debate with Joe Biden during the run up to the 2020 Presidential election.

The first debate between Trump and Biden (moderated by Chris Wallace) was covered extensively in the last hour of Part 1 of 'Death, Taxes and Empathy'.

It should be noted that 'Punch in the Face' is a 2013 song by Ministry and is in no way at all associated with the group The Proud Boys. We include it here as a representation because of our inspired mental association of it and the Berger piece. It has been telescoped by NCN in such a way as to be imperceptible to the casual first-time listener and so that we do not intrude on Ministry's copyright of the original song. A similar treatment has been given to Ministry's other song later on in this track representing the other side of the conflict we are describing 'Antifa'. Both of these tracks are from lossless sources, originally. It is our hope that if you like these songs, the listeners of our program purchase them from official sources and support Ministry for their work.

The two Ministry songs are separated by the piece 'Dirty Fighting' by done by the artist phage to represent the 'rules of engagement' in the 'rumble' we are symbolically describing in this overall piece.
