Thud Loop / All I Need (Is Adrian)

from The Art of Breathing by NCN & Negativland (and Friends)

/

about

The sounds of raspy mouth-breathing are at the beginning of the track mixed with knocking sounds and various effected samples. More excerpts from the breathing instruction tape are heard.

Phineas begins to play a thud-sounding percussion loop which Wobbly uses as a foundation to build 'air sculptures' around using the keyboard and various samples and effects. This becomes more dramatic, and then peters out leaving the sound of the outdoors remaining. This ambient bed continues on for a few moments.

We hear the sound of birds and crickets, outdoors.

Some of the bird sounds are deliberately warped to sound like laser beams. The sound of breathing.

This resolution continues on for a few moments and then we hear part of 'All I Need' by The Hollies remixed with breathing effects. This piece was post-produced, and not in the original aired mix.

Boopage once more.

After this, 'Adrian' comes on the phone. Wobbly talks to Adrian (who he calls Rocky) briefly expressing astonishment that he is still calling the show, to the very end, since the 1980s.
