about

Part 4 of 5: This and the following part, of this subset of our overall program, continues on with our presentation of our edited down version of an actual 'field trip' or visitation to The Stanley Hotel in Estes, Colorado where the story of The Shining was conceived of (and also based upon) by its author Stephen King. The audio of the field trip is taken from a film done by 'Sam and Colby' and is on Youtube here:

The Sam and Colby video channel can be subscribed to here:

A sequel to the film (which is not represented in our mix) in which they return to the Stanley Hotel can be found here:

The films shows Sam and Colby (and friends) on a field trip to The Stanley Hotel where the story of 'The Shining' was first conceived by its author Stephen King, after he had a nightmare there in Room 217, and is said to be 'the most haunted site in The United States'.

The Overlook Hotel, which figures into the story of The Shining was based on The Stanley Hotel.

In our multi-part re-mix of the Sam and Colby first film, our mix is augmented by remixes and mashups of (and in one case, a treatise on) the seminal classic rock song, 'Hotel California' by The Eagles, a song which is also about a haunted hotel and which was released shortly before the original book of 'The Shining' in the 70's.
